Chennai Super Kings

CSK Team 2018 Players List

Chennai Super Kings 2018 Team
The Yellow team of the Indian Premier League, the Chennai Super Kings are back in the IPL after suspension and with some top Indian stars already signed to the team, they are looking to come back with a bang in 2018. The eyes of Indian cricket will be on the two teams returning from suspension, and with that in mind we should see the Super Kings put together a very impressive group of players for their campaign. CSK squad 2018 is placed below.
MS Dhoni (retained Rs 15 cr), Suresh Raina (retained Rs 11 cr), Ravindra Jadeja (retained Rs 7 cr),Kedar Jadhav (Rs 7.8 crore), Dwayne Bravo (Rs 6.4 crore), Karn Sharma (Rs 5 crore), Shane Watson (Rs 4 cr), Shardul Thakur (RS 2.6 cr), Ambati Rayudu (Rs 2.2 cr), Murali Vijay (Rs 2 cr), Harbhajan Singh (Rs 2 cr), Faf Du Plessis (Rs 1.6 cr), Mark Wood (Rs 1.5 cr), Sam Billings (Rs 1 cr), Muhammad Imran Tahir (Rs 1 crore), Deepak Chahar (Rs 80 lakh), Mitchell Santner (Rs 50 lakh), Lungisani Ngidi (Rs 50 lakh), KM Asif (Rs 40 lakh), Kshitiz Sharma (Rs 20 lakh), Monu Singh (Rs 20 lakh), Jagadeesan Narayan (Rs 20 lakh), Dhruv Shorey (Rs 20 lakh), Kanishk Seth (Rs 20 lakh), Chaitanya Bishnoi (Rs 20 lakh)

The Super Kings have retained three players for 2018, all of which are Indian stars. They have retained MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja, and all three will be expected to make a huge contribution. Michael Hussey has been roped in as a batting coach for CSK.

All three players need no introductions, they are household names not only in India, but around the world. All three have huge experience playing all three formats of the game and they have all played T20 cricket at the highest level. Both Dhoni and Raina are huge crowd favourites and bringing them back in the season would certainly get the crowds flocking back.
The three of them give the Super Kings a very impressive start to their batting line-up, and they also give them some flexibility. Dhoni will keep wicket for them, solving the issue of signing a wicket keeper, and Jadeja provides them with a great spin bowling option as well as being able to bat. Raina’s strength lies with the bat and he can punish a team in the final few overs of the game coming in to bat in the middle order when runs are needed.
With Dhoni on board they also have a man who has experience captaining teams at the highest international level and this will give them a great edge. When the games are close with a few overs to go, Dhoni will have all the experience needed to guide his team home to victory, and that could be what wins them some important games throughout the season.
Joining the three Indian stars is another favourite from Indian cricket, as well as many big international names, giving the Super Kings a great chance of success in their first season back. Harbhajan Singh joins as a spin option, he is very experienced and will bring that to the team, he can take wickets, keep things tight and help develop the youngsters on the team.
As far as international players go, the Super Kings look to have a great team. Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis can perform to a high standard with the bat, while Imran Tahir and Mark Wood can provide good bowling. Dwayne Bravo is another good pick up, he can contribute in many ways with both the bat and ball, so will be exciting to watch.
After winning the tournament in 2010 and 2011, the Chennai Super Kings have a winning tradition that they will want to continue now they are back in the league.
The first season back will be tough for Chennai and a lot of work will have to be put in off the field to get them going. However, with two stars leading the way, and two huge fan favourites, confidence is already extremely high around the franchise. They have won the IPL before on two occasions, and with a point to prove you would be silly backing against them to make it three titles any time soon, they have the determination and skill required to win another title.
Their home ground, M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, is situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and is owned by Chennai Super Kings Cricket Ltd. Their home ground has a capacity of 40,000.
